Goodwood Revival 2023 Will Feature A 100 Per Cent Sustainably‑Fuelled Race

Goodwood is about passionate sustainability. It is key to the ability to continue celebrating the iconic cars of the past. To that end, Goodwood is excited to announce that for the first time ever, the Goodwood Revival will in 2023 feature a race with cars entirely powered by synthetic fuels. The Fordwater Trophy will be a race of 30 pre-1966 Porsche 911s, each running without a drop of fossil fuels in them. As a sustainable fuel-powered historic motor race, it will be the first of its kind.

It will prove quite the way to both celebrate 75 years of racing at Goodwood and 25 years of the Goodwood Revival, while giving a heartening look at how we can continue to do so long into the future, reducing our impact and helping to further-develop sustainable fuel options.

The Fordwater Trophy will be a continuation and a crescendo of our year-long celebration of the world’s most famous sportscar, the Porsche 911. Just days ago we began with a demonstration at the 80th Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport, of 911 racing cars spanning 25 years of its history. These ranged from a 1973 911 RSR to the Le Mans-winning 1998 911 GT1-98.

Also at the Revival we will be celebrating the hundredth birthday of Carroll Shelby, as well as 75 years of Lotus. The all-911 synthetic fuel-powered Fordwater Trophy will be joined by Revival classics, such as the RAC TT Celebration, St. Mary’s Trophy, Glover Trophy, Whitsun Trophy and many more. We can’t wait to see you here at the Motor Circuit when the 2023 Revival opens on Friday 8th September.
