Bentley Announces 1919 Collection

Bentley enthusiasts have been at the core of the company from its earliest days. The 1919 Collection, created by designer and Bentley External Creative Director Mai Ikuzawa, celebrates that bond with a range of superior-quality apparel available exclusively at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Monterey Car Week – a true ‘I was there’ message. The collection includes a chore coat crafted in hardwearing cotton oxford fabric, designed to develop character over time – exactly as Bentley’s cars have always done, from 1919 to the present day.

Inspiration

Bentley’s External Creative Director Mai Ikuzawa is uniquely placed to understand the bond that unites motorsport enthusiasts and she brings that instinctive sense to her work as a designer and brand advisor. Her father Tetsu Ikuzawa was a racer who competed in European Formula Two for Sir Frank Williams as well as becoming one of the first Japanese drivers to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Mai’s grandfather was an artist, so her background encompasses both the pit lane and the studio. “Bentley pioneered the feeling of community among owners and enthusiasts. If you look back at the days of the original Bentley Boys and pioneering Bentley Girls, you’ll see that customers became part of the brand. It wasn’t just winning the race; it was how you celebrated too. I wanted to honour that spirit in the 1919 Collection and stay true to the authentic stories of true Bentley enthusiasts,” explains Ikuzawa.

The 1919 Collection Chore Coat

The chore coat is the highlight of the 1919 Collection, a durable jacket in hardwearing cotton oxford fabric that will ‘wear in’ over time and become one with its owner. It’s offered in traditional Bentley Green, with external patch pockets and atelier-quality embroidery in Heritage White thread featuring the Bentley wings with the words ‘Bentley Motors Since 1919’. The ‘Full Send’ motif appears on a removable Velcro label, in reference to the viral video featuring stunt driver Travis Pastrama and the rear-wheel drive Bentley Supersports. Every detail, from the chainstitched embroidery to the copper buttons is executed with the care that’s typical of the brand.

Additional pieces

The 1919 Collection also includes a crew neck sweat in heavyweight 12oz reverse weave fabric, a short sleeve polo shirt and an American-style tee-shirt. A classic six-panel cotton cap, tote bag in heavy cotton canvas and embroidered tab keyrings complete the range.

1919 Collection availability

The 1919 Collection will be available only during the 2026 season from the Bentley stands at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Monterey Car Week in California. Further seasonal releases are planned, ensuring that each garment remains exclusive and highly collectible.
