12M€ For The Artcurial Motorcars Le Mans Classic Sale

After a four-year absence, the 10th edition of Le Mans Classic delighted enthusiasts and collectors from around the world, with some 200,000 spectators attending the event over the course of the weekend.

The Artcurial Motorcars sale on Saturday 2 July was a great success with 75% of vehicles selling for a total of over 12 M€. Plenty of passion, conviviality and enjoyment but also much emotion for Maître Hervé Poulain, on the rostrum alongside Matthieu Lamoure and Pierre Novikoff, for whom the Le Mans 24 Hours is full of unforgettable memories.

In the morning, during the Automobilia sale, a helmet signed by all the Tour Auto winners (lot 33) sold for 9 000 € / 9 229 $. The entire proceeds from the sale of this lot will go towards the construction of a canteen and kitchen for the 200 children of the Bongela School in South Africa.

There were several further highlights later in the day: the 1954 Maserati A6 GCS/53 Fiandri Spyder #2071 (lot 153) found a new owner for 3 418 000 € / 3 564 485 $ including premium. The car stays in Europe and will join a superb collection. The 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster (Lot 205) changed hands for 1 025 120 € / 1 069 054 $ including premium.

Coming from the Pierre Héron Collection, the Delahaye 135M Cabriolet « El Glaoui » by Figoni et Falaschi (lot 107) sold for 357 600 € / 372 926 $ including premium. The car will stay in France in the hands of an enthusiast who plans to bring it back to life.

Among the Grand Touring cars, the right-hand drive Aston Martin DB4 Series III (lot 198), changed hands for 500 640 € / 522 096 $ including premium. Finally, one of the special competition cars on offer was the 1986 Toyota Tom’s 86C (lot 192) which fetched 380 000€ / 396 286$ including premium.

Artcurial Motorcars invites you to the traditional Automobiles sur les Champs sale on Sunday 16 October. Starring in the sale will be a totally original 1969 Lamborghini Miura S, in the hands of the same owner since 1974, estimated at 900 000 – 1 400 000 €.
