Once a year, Italian motorsport history and a passion for historic automobiles combine to create an exclusive event: Following in the footsteps of the legendary Mille Miglia road race, the 1000 Miglia takes place from Brescia to Rome and back – a regularity rally of automotive classics with top-level participants.

You can experience this unique tradition up close with the Mercedes‑Benz Classic team: the enthusiasm of the spectators along the route, the city rides against a historic backdrop, the dream roads in the Italian countryside. You will experience all this in your own classic Mercedes‑Benz car and in the midst of an exclusive field of participants.
It is the fulfilment of a lifelong automotive dream: Mercedes‑Benz Classic enables you to take part in the 1000 Miglia 2026 with your own classic Mercedes‑Benz automobile. Only selected cars are allowed to take part in this historic regularity rally – only vehicles that took part in the original road race between 1927 and 1957 can start. The exclusive field of participants contributes to the exceptional status of this arguably most beautiful automobile race in the world.
Mercedes‑Benz is particularly closely associated with the history of the Mille Miglia. Outstanding moments include the overall victories of Rudolf Caracciola/Wilhelm Sebastian with the Mercedes‑Benz SSKL in 1931 and of Stirling Moss/Denis Jenkinson with the Mercedes‑Benz 300 SLR in 1955. The British duo achieved the best overall time ever at the Mille Miglia in the legendary racing sports car with race number 722. For many years, Mercedes‑Benz Classic has been honouring the brand’s special relationship with this chapter of the motorsport history with the participation of iconic vehicles in the historic regularity rally.

The night team is not included in the service package and can be ordered separately if required.
After reaching the day’s stage, the vehicle is handed over to the night team. The first step is a visual check using a standardized daily checklist. In addition, the fuel is checked, and a discussion is held between the driver and the head of the night team about any anomalies and the desired scope of the work to be carried out. As part of this handover, the technical observations and findings of the day team gathered during the stage are also incorporated. This ensures that all relevant information is taken into account, and necessary measures can be planned in an expedient manner.
All further repairs and service work required between crossing the finish line and the next start will be charged at cost. Both labour as well as spare parts are not included in the package and will be invoiced separately. The work is carried out according to an internal Prioritisation (triage) by the night team. Depending on the scope and availability, minor work may not be completed the same night and may have to be carried out at a later date. The night team therefore guarantees targeted, needs-based support for your vehicle during the event – flexible, transparent and with the utmost technical care.

Mille Miglia – the 1000 miles through northern Italy.
For 30 years, one of the most challenging car races of its time took place in northern Italy. The public route from Brescia to Rome and back has been the basis of what has probably been the most spectacular classic event in the world since 1977.
Brescia at the centre of European motorsport.
Four young petrol heads from Brescia had a great idea in the 1920s: The small town in Lombardy, around 30 kilometres south of Lake Garda, was to become the centre of European motorsport. The Sicilian endurance race Targa Florio and the North American Indy 500 have already focussed many enthusiastic car fans on motorsport. The Italian Grand Prix had already been moved from Brescia to Monza in 1922 – so a separate circuit with a very special racing philosophy was developed.
On 26 March 1927, 77 vehicles set off for the first time on the public route from Brescia to the capital Rome and back again. The racing cars covered a total distance of around 1600 kilometres in the endurance race. As the “ancient Romans” had already measured in miles, the event was simply called “1000 miles” – “Mille Miglia”. The vehicles received their race numbers in line with the successive start times and in the first few years took around 20 hours in all to complete the demanding, narrow routes lined with enthusiastic spectators.
The 1000 Miglia coined the still familiar title “Gran Turismo” (GT) for the fast touring sports cars with which the long route was travelled. The teams had their workshop vans and resourceful, unconventional mechanics with them, because there was more to do than just to admire the breathtakingly beautiful landscape of northern Italy. Driver and co-driver battled against the clock with constantly changing road conditions in unpredictable weather! In the first few years, only local teams familiar with the area won the race with the Lancia, Ferrari and Alfa Romeo brands.
