RETRO CLASSICS® 2026 – Driving Culture in All Its Diversity

From February 19 to 22, 2026, RETRO CLASSICS® Stuttgart will celebrate its 25th anniversary, once again presenting itself as one of the most important platforms for driving culture in Europe. For its silver jubilee, visitors can look forward to an extraordinary mix of automotive history, artisanal passion, spectacular one-off vehicles, and vibrant special exhibitions.

RETRO CLASSICS® 2026 – Driving Culture in All Its Diversity

Icons, Emotions, and History

One of the highlights of the anniversary edition is the special exhibition “Colors of Racing”, which focuses on legendary race cars and iconic motorsport designs. Historic colors, powerful stories, and original vehicles from various disciplines bring motorsport history to life in an emotional and immersive way.

A particularly special highlight is an extraordinary exhibit from Mercedes-Benz: the only surviving muletto based on a Dodge Viper, which served as a test vehicle during the development of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. This unique car is only very rarely shown in public and is considered one of the rarest witnesses of modern automotive history.

Driving Culture Beyond Four Wheels

A real eye-catcher is an exhibitor presenting a fully airworthy aircraft. Built according to original 1929 plans and equipped with state-of-the-art safety technology, the aircraft features an exterior skin made of corrugated aluminum. Around 95 percent of its components are manufactured in-house at the company’s facility in Oberndorf am Neckar, including leatherwork and paint finishes. Produced in small series, the aircraft exemplifies craftsmanship, engineering excellence, and living technology history.

GLAS, BMW, and a One-of-a-Kind Vehicle Worldwide

The GLAS Automobilclub International e. V. will present, in Hall 7, Stand C12, alongside a Goggomobil Coupé TS 250, a very special historical one-off: a BMW quick-service vehicle based on the GLAS 1004/1304 CL—presumably the only surviving example worldwide. Created during BMW’s takeover of Hans Glas GmbH in 1966, this event marks its 60th anniversary in 2026. The period-correct white-and-blue workshop vehicle impressively documents a fascinating chapter of German automotive history.

Experience Restoration Live

The special exhibition “Retro Works – Restoration Up Close” brings traditional craftsmanship into the spotlight. Hourly live demonstrations showcase original restoration techniques on classic and youngtimer vehicles, complemented by expert talks and personal consultations. For media representatives, influencers, and visitors alike, this exhibition offers authentic insights, striking visuals, and in-depth expertise—a fully functioning workshop right in the heart of the trade fair.

Japanese Tuning Culture as a Special Exhibition

Another distinctive highlight is the special exhibition of Japanese tuning vehicles, vividly illustrating how design, technology, and individualization from Japan have evolved into their own icons. Currently confirmed are more than 28 exhibits, including Toyota Supra (Mk3–Mk5), Nissan Skyline (R32–R34), Honda NSX, Mazda RX-7 FD, Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, as well as numerous rare custom builds.
