The ‘Big Healey’ was a popular choice for Modsports (Modified Sportscars) and the races saw large grids consisting of everything from AC Cobras and Lotus Elans to Ginettas while the rules permitted the use of larger engines and wheels. It was a relatively inexpensive race category designed for the club racing fraternity; most cars arrived on open trailers and the mechanics were often wives or girlfriends.
