History: Just 500 Alfa Romeo GTA 1600 were produced, of those only a small number were in factory “Corsa Competition” specification. The others were “Stradale Street” specification. Of those, only 50 were RHD; many of the Corsa cars were RHD. This car was prepared by Autodelta and has an impressive race pedigree with 7 first in class wins, having competed in the US Trans Am Series at Riverside, Laguna Seca, Virginia, Portland, SCCA Nationals, and other circuits.

It was also taken to the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1970 where it clocked 131.95 mph, which was a class record for a short time. The GTA Corsa had the Italian build quality of a Ferrari 250 GTO, using light weight metals – magnesium and aluminum – throughout. It was also one of Alfa Romeo’s most successful competition models, winning the US Trans Am Championship and the European Touring Car Championship.

Condition: The Corsa was prepared by Alfa Romeo’s competition department, “Autodelta” and had a full aluminum body, 1.6L engine with twin spark cylinder head, weber DCOE 45 carburetors and special air intake, producing 175hp. The engine has a magnesium deep finned sump, a magnesium bellhousing, a close ratio transmission and a limited slip differential. The wheels are magnesium 7” Campagnolo. The Corsa interior has special lightweight dash and seats. Plexi glass windows are on the side and rear. Completely restored by GTA expert Roman Tucker of Michigan. Later maintained by KTR European in Massachusetts, followed by specialists at Sonoma Raceway.

Then in 2021 it was repainted, in 2022 it underwent a rebuild of all four suspension corners, brakes (rotors, calipers), sway bars, rear trailing arms, bushings, rear axle limiting straps. Gearbox was rebuilt with new syncros, sliders and bearings. Electrical wiring was repaired, as was air box intake and radiator fittings, along with other work completed. A professional detail then brought the paint to a high gloss. It is an outstanding original example in good order. Recent bills totalling $73,380 for completed work.

Race History: See attached list or refer to the photo gallery, if it is not appended, please call 858-459-3500 for details.
