Lotus Elite – Super 95 FIA Race car This Lotus Elite was built in 1961 and has raced successfully for the last 20 5 years or so. An excellent and competitive car in the pre ’63 GT series and eligible for many fantastic events such as Goodwood and Le mans Classic. First delivered in 1962 this Super 95 enjoyed more power than the earlier cars as it was fitted with a tuned Coventry Climax engine with 5 bearing crankshaft and an uprated cam shaft. Since returning from the USA in the early 1990’s this car has been a regular competitor in Pre ’63 GT races and was invited to LeMans Classic in 2014. More recently the car has been raced at Spa and Silverstone Classic. The engine has been rebuilt and has only 8 hours of running since rebuild, and showed an impressive 124bhp on the dyne. Also fitted with ZF gearbox with new Quaife internals, the car has proved to be competitive and reliable, and has been maintained by RW Racing over the last few years. Complete with current FIA HTP papers, spare set of wheels and long range fuel tank, the car is also UK road registered and would be great fun on tour events as well as the track.
