Ordered new by Philip. F. Scrutton in 1954, a world class amateur golfer and pilot, three time winner of Brabazon Cup and a member of the British Walker and Ryder Cup Golf teams in 1955/6/7. He was mentioned in Ian Flemings book ‘Goldfinger’ due to his golfing prowess. Mr Scrutton was an avid car collector owning eleven cars in 1955; including a Mercedes Benz 300 SL #5500033 Registration No. PLE 3. He further purchased a Mercedes Benz 300 SL #5500374 Registration No. MLT 3. He died on 30th of October 1958 in a car accident. In 1955 Stanley. W. Bailey Hailwood motor bike racer and owner of MD King Motorcycles, member of BRDC and father of Mike Hailwood World Champion bike racer and F1 racer bought the Bentley. He entered the car in Cannes Concours d’Elegance and was immensely proud of the Bentley using it often in the south of France where he spent a great deal of his time.

In 1968 Frank Cavanagh purchased the Bentley during a European vacation visiting aircraft manufacturers. Frank had bought a number of cars in Europe including a Mercedes Benz 170 Pickup during a trip in 1951 .He bought the car from Frank Cox, Rolls Royce & Bentley, Lavender Hill, Battersea, London. It was then immediately imported to his property in Kurrumboola, Mulawla, Australia where it would reside until 2015 sharing the hangar space with his 1960 Cessna, 1966 Ferrari 330 GT and 1956 Bentley S1.
