On 21 May, Bonhams will return to Belgium for their 4th sale at Spa- Francorchamps. Since we were covering the great range of significant racing cars being offered for sale in an earlier feature, we had a closer look at some very special Porsches, the auction house will bring along as well. Here are four highlights that immediately caught our attention:
The 1958 Porsche 356 A 1600 Super Speedster for sale is one of the rare and desirable late examples produced in ’57 for ’58 and one of the last 800 Speedsters that were built. The car is now mildly race-prepared with a later 1600 SC engine producing 110bhp and has been extensively restored by specialists to a very fast and response driver’s car.
A much younger Speedster is the 1989 Porsche 911 3.2-Litre ‘Narrow-body’ Speedster which is one of only 171 narrow-body Speedsters ever built. This car has been delivered new to Sweden before being sold to Italy in 1995. A low-mileage car with only 20,000 kilometres on the odometer.
For fans of the famous G50 gearbox, this one has it all: the 1989 Porsche 911 Type 930 Turbo Targa not only offers the renowed 5-speed manual, it is also one of only 26 Turbo Targas produced in 1989. These days, the cars shows slightly over 109,000 kilometers on the odometer and presents itself in an excellent condition.
More performance-oriented drivers will definitely love the 1993 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6-Litre Type 964 Coupé which is the most powerful model in the 964 range. The car has been delivered new to France and shows only 62,400 kilometers.
Bonhams will offer 50% of the cars without reserve, so maybe your automotive dream can be yours this weekend!
