History: The GTAm was built by Alfa Romeo’s factory racing department, Autodelta, to compete in the European Touring Car Championship, which it won in 1970 piloted by Toine Hezemans, placing it ahead of BMW and Ford. It also won the Constructor’s Championship in 1971 and 1972. With a total of forty cars built, it should be noted that less than twenty were Autodelta factory team cars. This impressive factory car was driven by team drivers, Carlo Facetti, Hans Deen, Walter Dona, and Teodoro Zeccoli and entered in races including Zandvoort, Silverstone Spa and many other circuits in the 1970, 1971,1972,1973, and 1974 seasons. Autodelta raced the car until 1977.

It is documented as an Autodelta GTAm by Alfa Romeo archive records, Certificate of Origin and in the following publications: Alleggerita, by Tony Adriaensens and Patrick Dasse, and Alleggerita Register by Martin Ubelher and Patrick Dasse. The car’s ownership is also well-documented. Recently, it underwent professional race prep, routine service and raced in West Coast USA historic races.

Condition: Beautifully turned out in original factory colors, the GTAm was restored in 2003-2004 with considerable refreshing done in 2013. Recent service and race prep was carried out in 2019-2020. A historically correct example of the very rare GTA, its features include Proper engine bloc, cylinder head and fuel injection (which were unique to the GTAm), and Proper close ratio 5-speed gearbox and limited slip differential. It also has original bodywork with wide riveted fender arches and 13” magnesium wheels. The body is built on a steel platform with lightweight fiberglass and aluminum panels.
